The Mogra Engineering Column & Boom (“Brahma”) is equipment designed to ease out continuous automatic welding operations by suitably manipulating the welding head, which is fixed at the end of the boom. With the combination of horizontal movement of the boom, the vertical movement of the saddle assembly (which carries the boom and its horizontal drive) and the rotary movement of the column on its base, the welding head can be manipulated to reach difficult locations, leading to economic and high quality weld joints. When the column is mounted on a ‘trolley base’, this set up is more versatile, as the equipment becomes mobile. In conjunction with a Rotator or Positioner, intricate and large objects, which are almost inaccessible otherwise, can be welded conveniently with superior weld quality and remarkable increase in productivity. The Column & Boom is ideal for welding circumferential and longitudinal joints. Column & Booms are ideal for mounting of a submerged arc welding head or MIG welding head when welding pipe/ vessel work. Larger units enable the welding head to be in an ideal position when welding vessels and boilers.
